Mr Arcuri is the "leader of the pack" in Upstate NY which believes that control is best gained and maintained through intimidation, nepotism and financial purchase. Their arrogance has finally reached the tipping point and the constituents are ready to fight to regain control the political process.

I wonder how many favors Arcuri performed in order to get the support needed to run for congress. Remember that female politician who got pulled over for drunk driving in Utica when Arcuri was DA, then phoned Arcuri and he convinced the cops to back off? I don't think the O-D printed a follow-up to that story. Why is it that Arcuri supported modification of the clean energy bill to allow dirty coal plants to continue to be dirty? As a representative of upstate NY, he should know about the problems we have with acid rain and the lakes that are dead or dying because of it. He claims it was to save jobs in NY, but he didn't say how many or what kinds. Clean energy is intended to create jobs. Most of our electricity comes from hydro power, so why is Arcuri favoring dirty coal plants? Arcuri doesn't think the FCC should be allowed to enforce network neutrality on the Internet. What? Network neutrality was one of the founding principles of the Internet, and it allowed the Internet to grow as quickly as it did. Now the big players want to make more money off it by doing away with network neutrality, even though they are already making enough money. Arcuri says he doesn't support network neutrality because it prevents broadband Internet access from spreading out to rural areas. This is the excuse the big players use, and it is false. Why is Arcuri listening to the companies that have the most to gain from the loss of network neutrality? The number of Internet providers has shrunk considerably over the last ten years, and now the big players want to make sure they are able to shut out the few smaller players that are left. I haven't heard Arcuri's opinion on the public option for health care. Does that mean he is going to vote against it? The companies who stand to lose the most are the ones who are spending the largest amount of money to convince our elected representatives to vote against US. The public option is a KEY factor that will introduce competition and force out of hand health care costs to become more affordable for everyone. Do away with the public option, and say goodbye to affordable healthcare and real healthcare reform. I hear Republicans trying to shock the public by saying that the public option will cost 1.2 trillion dollars over ten years, and I say it's worth the investment. We've already spent more than 1.2 trillion dollars in much less time bailing out crooks who ripped us off to begin with, so why don't we the people get a chance to see some relief for a change? Give us lower health care costs, and we will have more money to spend on other things, boosting the rest of the economy. It isn't rocket science.
